TMC Volunteers give donation to Denison Senior Center

Denison Senior Nutrition Center

December brought more than just the holiday spirit to the Denison Senior Nutrition Center.  Texoma    Medical Center Volunteers  presented the center manager,  Dorothy Stockton, with an early Christmas present.  Dorcas Allen

TMC Volunteer president, presented a $6,000 check to the center.  The presentation was made in front of a full house at the center. “They said that we were getting a donation, but I never expected this”, said a still stunned Dorothy Stockton.  “This gift will stay here for the citizens of Denison and will be used to further what we do all the time, but now we will be able to do a little bit more”.

The Denison Meals on Wheels program serves about 215 meals a day, five days a week.  Delivery of the meals requires the help of 17 volunteers comprised of         individuals, church groups and civic and business organizations.

Community Members Respond to Christmas Wish List

GCEC was the first to respond to the wish list published in the Herald Democrat for the Tri-County Senior Nutrition Project, Inc.  Michael Weltzheimer from GCEC called early December 17th and had read in the Sunday paper that the program’s wish list included computer monitors and fax machines.  He said that GCEC would like to donate 20 computer monitors and three industrial fax machines.  The items were delivered to the warehouse and will be used in the individual centers.

Thanks GCEC for being a great community sponsor!!

Also, a HUGE THANK YOU to the other  businesses and individuals who made such generous donations.  Those much needed funds help us further our  mission.
